Pigeon Point Lighthouse Notecard

Pigeon Point Lighthouse is located on the California coast on highway 1 about an hour south of San Francisco. After many shipwrecks and much loss of life it was built in 1872. It was one of the most powerful lighthouses of its time with a light that would pierce through the fog and could be seen seventeen to twenty-two miles out to sea. It was built with over half a million locally made bricks and stands 115 feet tall. Today it stands as a reminder to all of us to make a difference in our worlds.
